I am a New York-based urban and architectural designer from Syria. Born and raised in Damascus, I've spent the first 20 years of my life there and started my architectural journey at the college of Architecture in Damascus University before later fleeing the country in light of the revolution in 2012. I first got my B.Arch at Illinois Tech before moving to New York for my Masters in Urban Design at the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) at Columbia University.
I am a proud son of two architects, Rand Abdulsamad and Randa Bahit, the founders of Inter Design architecture in Syria. A family practice that is an extension to my grandfather's real estate development and architecture work in my hometown of Homs, nearly five decades ago. Majed |
